When my father passed away years ago, my balance was taken from me.  I was grief-stricken and did not know what to do about it.  This was the first time in my life that I had ever thought about going to therapy; actually, it was when the panic attacks started, and I thought that I was going to die. I knew I needed help.  Going to a therapist literally saved my life.

Being able to talk through many of my fears about death of a parent and work through reasons why I was feeling the way that I was helped me get through that difficult time in my life.

Since then, my therapist encouraged me to go back to school to become a therapist myself.  With all of the reading and research about situations that I was facing -

raising my four children and coming from a large extended family - I have many years of personal life experiences that I know have been beneficial to help counsel others.  I am proud to say that I achieved my goal of graduating with my Masters Degree, becoming a therapist and I am now building my practice in Lincolnshire, Illinois.

I am committed to providing high-quality psychological care to help others find balance in their lives.  I want my clients to know that they are not alone, I believe in working together to tackle any problem that they may be facing.  Whether the needs are for short-term problem solving or long-term growth work, I will work collaboratively with my clients to create goals for their future.

Since losing my father in 1997, I unfortunately lost many other members of my family.  It is with the utmost respect and humility that I am able to help others who may be facing grief and loss.  I am determined to help with any issues related to diagnosis/illness, hospice care and death.  I am hopeful that my personal experiences and knowledge in this area may benefit my clients during one of the most difficult times in their lives.   Working with clients and their families before, during and after treatment can help create the comfort and support necessary to help during this difficult time.

As the saying goes, “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.” When a client leaves my office and tells me they feel better, or after weeks of discussions comes in and says they are ready to talk about new or deeper issues, I am proud we have collaborated and built a level of trust where changes are made, and my clients can thrive!

When kids start getting better grades, increase self-esteem, learn to ignore the bully and are getting along better with their family, I feel proud. When a couple stays together, happily communicating and thriving in their relationship, I feel proud. The goal of therapy is to help people achieve their goals and through every success and failure, we can learn something, make changes and move forward, leading to resiliency.
